Dr Meenal completed her BSc (Hons) Psychology at McGill University, Canada following which she completed her MB BCh BAO BA (Scholar)  in Medicina at Trinity College in Ireland. She completed her General Paediatric training in Ireland and has obatined her higher specialist training (CCST) in Ireland in 2013. Subsequently, she obtained her M.D. in 2016 and submitted her thesis on the topic of Natural Killer Cell dysfunction in childhood obesity. She has also completed her Paediatric Endocrinology training in Malaysia. Her research interests are within the field of paediatric endocrinology and she has published articles on various topics such as insulin pump, growth hormone testing, diabetes insipidus and type 1 diabetes as well as short stature in children. She has also participated in larger clinical trials as co-investigator for the PIONEER TEENS (NN-9924-4437), SCALE KIDS (NN-8022-4392) and ORION-16 trials (CKJX839C12301). She is a member of research subcommitte for the Malaysian Paediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Group and holds memberships in the Asia Pacific Paediatric Endocrine Society, European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society.
